The Canadian rapper also acknowledged Slum Village, Dwele and Elzhi.
Drake took some time to pay respect to several artists he called “some of the greatest ever” on social media over the weekend.
As HipHopDX pointed out, on Sunday night Drake shared a series of posts highlighting a handful of artists including The Roots, MF DOOM, Phonte, Slum Village, Dwele, and Elzhi on Instagram Story.
If only Drake fans could listen to good music too 😉 @Drake @MFDOOM pic.twitter.com/PDsE0qP9mV

As seen in the tweet above, social media users have since reacted to Drake’s Instagram Story posts, wondering what a collaboration with these artists (particularly MF DOOM) would sound like.
What does a @MFDOOM & Drake song sound like??

If you listened to #ComebackSeason nothing about this selection surprises you.
He also included MF Doom and Elzhi in his posting.
Whatever Drake is working in, I’m excited to hear it. https://t.co/t1qMNrQBee

Drake has collaborated with Phonte, Dwele, and Elzhi before. In 2007, all three artists appeared on his second mixtape, Comeback Season. Phonte had previously spoken on a viral troll tweet that compared him to Drake last year.
“He was just being funny,” Phonte said of the tweet. “But to the larger point, for our music to live on through artists like Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick [Lamar], that’s crazy. People will try to put their expectations and issues onto you. People will say, man, that dude stole your style. You need to call him out. I just have to tell people constantly, look, I don’t want to be these ni**as. I’m good being me.”
