D'Angelo Will Pay Tribute To Prince On 'The Tonight Show' This Evening
Clear your DVR and any plans you may have had for this evening, as a purple disciple will be hitting the late-night block to honor Prince. D'Angelo, who dropped off an intimate and touching salute just this morning, will be gracing The Tonight Show with a tributary performance this evening, giving the people what they want and, no doubt, offering himself a cathartic moment as he continues to process the loss of his hero. Those familiar with D's catalogue, and unflinching reverence for His Royal Purpleness, know his cover of the b-side "She's Always In My Hair" to be something of a unsung classic (captured most recently in an in-studio performance for Spotify and performed live at Afropunk in 2014) and while we can't say for sure what D'Angelo will be performing this evening, we do know that it's going to be a beautiful night for all involved.
