From Meek Mill to Lizzo to Plies to Talib Kweli, here is how some celebrities responded to Donald Trump getting impeached.
President Donald Trump was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday (December 19th) evening, over his role in pressuring Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden's son Hunter. And, despite impeachment being a complicated process, everyone seemed to have an opinion on the historic night.
The house voted on two articles: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The House voted 230 Democrats to 197 Republicans to impeach Trump for abuse of power. The House then voted on the second article, obstruction of Congress. The vote was 229 democrats to 198 republicans. Democratic Presidental nominee Tulsi Gabbard voted present on both not choosing a side.
It's unlikely Trump will be removed from the office. The Senate, which is majority Republican, has indicated that they will support Trump.
However, that didn't stop celebrities, from rappers to comedians to actors, from having an opinion on the spectacle. Even if there seemed to be some confusion if Trump would actually be removed from office.
