Booker T. Jones - "Fun"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Legendary Stax soul man Booker T. Jones prepares fans for the release of his 10th studio LP, with the lead single "Fun" - a track that sounds as fresh and timeless as the Booker T. & The M.G.'s classic, "Green Onions." The Memphis born multi-instrumentalist plans to release his forthcoming Sound The Alarm LP on Stax/Concord. This record follows the 2011 LP The Road From Memphis and a more recent performance at The White House for the POTUS' tribute to Memphis soul music featuring Mavis Staples, Justin Timberlake and the Alabama Shakes. The album will feature the musical stylings of rising blues man Gary Clark Jr. and Booker T's unmistakable B3 organ. Booker T. feels that his resurgence is the marker of a musical rebirth - one he seems to be enjoying enough that leading with a single called "Fun" makes perfect sense. Enjoy the sounds below. Stay tuned for Sound The Alarm, dropping June 25th.
