By now, it should be no secret that the spry lyrical behemoth known as Bishop Nehru is something of a new legend in hip-hop with a laundry list of cosigns from rap-game heavyweights. Most notably, he's got the mighty and ever enigmatic genius of MF DOOM in his corner, having put out one of the years best records in the cross-generational master-student collaboration that was NehruvianDOOM. And let's not forget about Nas, who happens to be the kid's new boss at Mass Appeal Records.
Needless to say, Nehru seems to be in fine care and surrounded by some of the legends he's grown-up admiring in his young career. But how did a kid from Rockland County, New York get so far so quick? In a recent stop to Sway In The Morning to chop it up with Mr. Calloway, Nehru delved into the origin of his name, how he came to link with old metal fingers and what it was like to meet (and now work with) Nasty Nas. He even struts that extra-sharp verbal in a quick freestyle so there's no question as to what he's there for. Watch Bishop Nehru's candid chat with Sway on Sway In The Morning below and cop his NehruvianDOOM LP on iTunes today.
