Big Boi & Phantogram Share Pop-Tinged 'Big Grams' Single "Lights On"
Big Grams, AKA the genre-destroying collision of ATLien heavyweight Big Boi and electro-rockers Phantogram, are on a mission to conquer the great musical grey. They realized their creative kinship on Big Boi's 2012 solo record Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors with the scintillating "Objectum Sexuality," continuing on the album's '80s-leaning remix singles series. Then they made it official, announcing a joint EP under the collaborative moniker and gave us a horn-y heater in the debut single "Fell In The Sun." And today, the follow-up has arrived in the form of the "Lights On," anchoring themselves in Phantogram's more pop-tinged tendencies; big hooks, big bells, sleek guitar riffs and stadium claps, with Lucious lending a few effected bars to the cut towards its close. Big Grams is slated to feature a short-list of features, tapping Skrillex and Run The Jewels for their tandem debut. Hear Big Grams' "Lights On" below and hold tight for the record's arrival next Friday, September 25th. Preorders are underway on iTunes ahead of the release.
