Big Freedia Reschedules Hattiesburg Show + 1st Annual International Twerk Day
Just weeks after the controversial cancellation of a highly publicized show in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, bounce queen Big Freedia has rescheduled with The Dollar Box Showroom and announced plans for the First Annual International Twerk Day. The show was initially called off by the owner of the venue following a ruling by the state’s Alcohol Beverage Control board that the performance might be in violation of Mississippi codes, which reportedly forbid “gyrating.” Back and ready to bounce after sorting things out with the ABC, Freedia will hit the stage with her team of champion twerkers on Friday, March 25th.
“I’m just glad we were able to work it out with the State Alcohol Beverage Control,” says Big Freedia. “I love my fans in Hattiesburg and I’m very excited to have the chance to go back.”
Celebrating in a major way, Freedia has dubbed the makeup date the First Annual International Twerk Day. If you know anything about how she gets down, you already know it’s about to be lit. Get ticket information and more on Big Freedia’s upcoming tour dates via bigfreedia.com.
