In just a week, Soulja Boy has gone from nearing obscurity to internet rap icon at the center of every major musical, cultural, and technological, advance of the last decade. In the wake of his batshit crazy Breakfast Club interview, the Atlanta rapper has managed an unlikely transformation that’s offering him new life as an unstoppable living meme.
Naturally, Saturday Night Live called upon resident rap impersonator, Chris Redd, to deliver his take on the sensationalist ATLien for a spot on this week’s Weekend Update. Redd held character as long as he could, spoofing the rapper’s video game enterprising, addressing the temporarily paused government shutdown, and even announcing his presidential run in the upcoming 2020 election (Kamala/Soulja, anyone?.)
You can watch Saturday Night Live spoof Soulja Boy’s infamous Breakfast Club interview below. Stay tuned for his next transmission. Shouldn’t be long now.
