The goal for the party was simple: to try and recreate the vibes and atmosphere of the iconic Black Lily series.

On Thursday, July 18th, Okayplayer, alongside DJs Jasmine Solano and BVDí, kicked off its first On & On event — a monthly Los Angeles-based neo-soul party.

Night one was held at the Paper Tiger and was hosted by First Look Friday alumna Tiffany Gouché. The goal for the party was simple: to try and recreate the vibes and atmosphere of the iconic Black Lily series from the early 2000s.

With that objective in mind, night one was an overwhelming success. We had a packed house at the Paper Tiger, the music was knocking, the liquor was flowing, and free chocolate covered strawberries were handed out.

Folks in attendance also got to see an impromptu performance from Gouché. Overall it was a dope dope night. We hope to see yall next month. (Stay tuned for details.)
