Let's just assume for a second that Lupe Fiasco, like many artists, has always been his toughest critic. Let's also assume that his latest album, part one of an alleged trilogy of final releases, wasn't exactly the hard-hitting next phase for a rapper now 11 years into his career. Finally, let our last assumption be that, of course, Fiasco beat every music writer on the planet to trashing his new album.
The Food & Liquor rapper did just that last week, revealing his own thoughts on the DROGAS Light with a lengthy, self-deprecating post on Twitter, revealing that he sees and hears two Lupes: Moonshine Lupe and Champagne Lupe, the latter being his opulent and entertaining self, the former wreaking of industry shots gone a awry. He also claims DROGAS Light to be an extension of the much-shitted-on Lasers, which the artist himself wanted to destroy with actual laser beams. You can read Lupe Fiasco's review of DROGAS Light down below.
