During the interview, Questlove told a hilarious story about DJing a party at the White House in 2016. During the party, President Barack Obama went up to him to let him know he was doing a good job. Then he proceeded to critique him.

Quest said Obama told him he loved the music he was playing (which was mostly old school hip-hop and jazz.) But that he was worried the kids weren’t having a good time. “Look at them, they wanna have fun too!” Questlove said Obama told him.

And then, Obama made an odd song request. He asked Questlove if he had any French Montana he could play. in the podcast, Quest said:

[Obama’s] coming up to me like, “Do you have French Montana?” And I’m like, “Sir, I don’t have the clean versions of that.” He’s like, “We’re all adults here. Play it!” I’m like, “Sir, I’m not gonna play ‘Pop that pussy, bitch, what ya twerkin’ wit.'”
