Cynthia Nixon Made a Guest Appearance at the Eric B & Rakim Show
Eric B for President, Cynthia Nixon for Governor
On Monday night, Eric B. & Rakim performed at Irving Plaza in New York City. A couple of minutes into their set, which included classics like “Don’t Sweat the Technique” and “I Ain’t No Joke,” the music stopped.
And, surprisingly, New York Governor candidate — and ex-Sex in the City star — Cynthia Nixon, who is challenging Andrew Cuomo to the left, appeared on the stage.
There she gave a mini stump speech. At one point she said “I know Eric B. is president, but I’m here because I wanna be governor of New York state!” (We’re still trying to figure out whether this is a great line or a horrific one.)
She goes on to say “I’m here because I want to be governor of New York State. I was born here, I grew up here, with my mom, in a one bedroom, five flight walk up.”
