"Special Delivery" Producer Says Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz Didn't Credit Him on "Uproar"

The producer says he's not credited on the hit single.

For the past 25 years, Ez Elpee has had a hand in producing some of the most recognizable beats in hip-hop. He is behind hits like Junior M.A.F.I.A's "Get Money," Nas's "Oochie Wally," and, of course, G. Dep's "Special Delivery."

When Lil Wayne released the long-awaited album The Carter V, the Swizz Beats and Avenue-produced track "Uproar" became a hit. The track is a flip of the song "Special Delivery."

However, Ez Elpee claims that he did not receive a production credit.

"They stole my shit," Elpee told HipHopDX. "Seventeen years and now we're having extra plays on the record...that was a hit record. It stood the test of time."

Elpee says that he isn't angry about the use of the sample. The producer just wants to be credited:

I went into the comments or whatever and [Swizz] is trying to downplay it...It's just like if I took "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and did it over and didn't give him a credit for it... I know you need a record. I understand that. I know you're trying to reinvent yourself. That's dope. There's nothing with that. But like damn my nigga, like you trying to act like you never heard "Special Delivery?"

Elpee also finds it odd that Wayne used the beat, despite the fact he dismissed the beat on the 2012 freestyle "Green Ranger."

We've all made a lot of money... life goes on...I just find it unusual that Wayne said he hated the beat -on the beat- and now it's on his album.
