Spotify Unveils Drake Is the Most Globally Streamed Artist of 2018

More streaming history has been made.

Drake has been announced as Spotify's most globally streamed artist of 2018.

The streaming service has revealed its “Wrapped,” roundup, which lists the leading artists, albums, songs, playlists, podcasts and cultural storylines that defined the world's music consumption this year.

Earlier this year, the service announced Drake as the most streamed artist in Spotify history.with 8.2 billion streams in 2018 alone.

The Canadian rapper's latest album Scorpion and his hit song “God’s Plan” were the most streamed album and song of 2018,.

Post Malone, controversial late rapper XXXTENTACION, J Balvin, and Ed Sheeran rounded out the top 5 list of Most Streamed Artists in the world.

With more than 48 million monthly listeners, Ariana Grande is Spotify’s most streamed female artist.

Cardi B was the most streamed female artist in the United States, followed by Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift,Nicki Minaj and Halsey. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy is also the no. 4 most streamed album of the year in the U.S.
