Now, De La Soul member Maseo has confirmed what exactly the rap group, Rock and Premier have in store. Not only are they working on the follow-up to And the Anonymous Nobody together but a third installment of the Art Official Intelligence series, according to HipHopDX.
And the Anonymous Nobody was released back in 2016 and served as the rap trio’s first full-length album since 2004’s The Grind Date.
DJ Premier will also be touring alongside De La Soul for their “Gods of Rap Tour” with Wu-Tang Clan and Public Enemy. The tour will be taking place in the United Kingdom in May.
Wu-Tang is listed as the official headliners of the tour while DJ Premier is slated to host each evening. Wu is honoring the 25th anniversary of Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers); Public Enemy is honoring 30 years of It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, while De La Soul is honoring the 30th anniversary of 3 Feet High and Rising.
“I don’t believe anything like this has been done in the UK before on this level,” SJM promoter Chris Wareing told Music Week. “This tour creates a legacy, it’s a moment. The groups are the biggest in their genres, they’re all celebrating notable anniversaries of their biggest albums and I am led to believe this is the first time they have all been on the same bill together.”
