Wu-Tang: An American Saga was created and written by The RZA, who is working with writer Alex Tse (who wrote Superfly.) The show will tell the story of the group in the early ’90s. The story is based on the group, but it seems like different names will be used. Ashton Sanders will be playing the RZA character, who will be named Bobby Diggs on the show.

While Dave East will play Shotgun, who is clearly supposed to be Method Man. (Deadline, who broke the story, describes the character as “Tall, with a knack for rhymes, Shotgun takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty. A popular figure in Staten Island, he stays above the turf wars.”)
