AJ Calloway Has Been Accused of Sexual Assault by Two More Women

Two more women have joined author Sil Lai Abrams in alleging that Calloway assaulted them.

Host and television personality AJ Calloway has been accused of sexual assault by two more women.

Last year, author and journalist Sil Lai Abrams came forward with accounts of being sexually assaulted by A.J. Calloway and Russell Simmons. Now, in an interview with The Daily Beast, two anonymous women claim the Extra host and former host of 106 & Park assaulted them.

One of the women said she had started talking with Calloway in 2011, and that she is "terrified about coming forward," adding, "I don’t want it to affect my future, everything that I’ve worked hard for—and A.J. is someone that would try to do that."

She says Calloway coerced her to go to dinner with him, later making advances, exposing himself and masturbating. "He really was going for my skirt, and I was literally pulling my skirt down because I was not going to allow him to go any further. And he thought it was a game or something because he kept laughing and giggling and I’m like, no, stop, stop. And the more I said stop the more he got aggressive, and that’s when I started to realize, oh my god, this is serious. Like, he’s really going to try and force me to have sex with him."

The woman says that after "40 minutes straight," of trying to make physical advances on her, he gave up.

“We cannot comment on vague secondhand allegations beyond that Mr. Calloway firmly denies any claim that he assaulted someone,” Calloway's lawyer Lisa E. Davis told The Daily Beast.

In June of 2018, Abrams claimed Calloway exposed himself and attempting to push her head down on his lap in 2006. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Calloway had been arrested and charged with forcible touching and attempted sexual misconduct, but the case was dismissed over procedural grounds and the charges were dropped in November 2007.

He has denied Abrams' allegations and released in a statement saying, "I was disappointed to read the false allegations about me in The Hollywood Reporter. As I have maintained from the beginning, these allegations are not true."

Calloway is currently a co-host on Extra, where he's won two Emmys for Outstanding Entertainment News Program in 2014 and 2016. He hosted BET's 106 & Park from 2000 to 2005.
