The Notorious B.I.G. and James Brown are the latest legends to receive the mash-up treatment.

On a new tape from DJ Tiger (the man behind that excellent Nipsey Hussle x DJ Premier mixtape,) Brooklyn's cherished beat laureate laces a string of The Godfather's funk foundations with cinematic flourishes and hallmark grit. Though the title misses an obvious opportunity to celebrate the "Machine Gun Funk" rapper, the tape is handled with reverence and care for the respective catalogs, stitching together selections from Brown's live and studio repertoire with various heaters from Biggie's bag.
