Denzel Washington feels pretty bad for letting it slip that he’s involved in Black Panther 3(and, by extension, revealing that a Black Panther 3is in the works).

what the future of his career holdswhich he clarified shortly afterBlack Panther

“I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70,” he said during an appearance on Australia’s Todaytalk show. “After that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.”

Now, he is not only remaining tight-lipped on his involvement, but he has since apologized to Black Pantherdirector Ryan Coogler for the slip-up.

Referring to Coogler as a “genius” during an appearance on Variety's Awards Circuitpodcast, Washington said, “I called him and apologized for talking about the movie, and right there sitting with him was his beautiful wife. He’s still Ryan, humble and full of ideas. Whatever he writes, I’ll read.”

Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce Black Panther 3. The second one was released back in 2022.
