The show will cover Jackson's career throughout his 20s and 30s.

A Michael Jackson bio-musical is officially slated to hit Broadway in the summer of 2020. Titled MJ The Musical, the show which was previously named Can't Stop Til You Get Enough will begin preview performances on July 6, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The official opening will take place on August 13 at Neil Simon Theatre.

MJ The Musical is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. The show will cover "Jackson's career milestones with an emphasis on his achievements throughout his 20s and 30s." The Hollywood Reporter shares it will also feature Jackson's "hits and a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage."

In February, the producers of the show (the Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage) reportedly canceled its pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago. Performances in Chicago were initially slated to begin on October 29. Scheduling difficulties due to this year's Actors' Equity strike led to this decision. MJ the Musical is currently in development at studios in New York.
