Netflix Scraps Marvel's 'Iron Fist' After Two Seasons
The not-so immortal Iron Fist has been canceled.
According to Deadline, the Disney-owned comic book giant released a joint statement with Netflix announcing the cancellation of a series that featured myriad cameos from stars of adjacent Marvel properties Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Defenders.
There is hope, however, as the statement hints towards a potential revival on Disney’s upcoming proprietary streaming service: “We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.” There’s also the chance that we’ll Danny and Conny in the third seasons of other series. Iron Fist is the only Marvel property on Netflix not renewed for another season.
As it readies the launch of its service with Marvel film and television projects and a recently-announced Star Wars trilogy directed by Jon Favreu already in the works, The Mouse looks to debut with a muscular arsenal. And the departure of other Disney-owned Netflix favorites is all but imminent. Binge while you still can.
