Mahershala Ali will star in season three of the polarizing show. Casey Bloys, president of programming at HBO, announced the news at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. Bloys also announced that the show still hasn’t been greenlit.

Bloys said that he’s read five scripts:

“They are terrific. … I was very impressed and excited. We are talking to directors, and when we have a director we want to hire, it will be a go.”

Shortly after the announcement, Ali confirmed the news on his Instagram, with the post you see above.

Bloys said that the show is further along than another popular HBO property: The Night Of. Steven Zaillian, the creator of the hit mini series hasn’t pitched an idea to HBO yet. That doesn’t concern Bloys, however:

“The good news about Steven Zaillian is that he will come to you when he’s ready, and when he comes to us, we’ll know he’s locked.”
