Chucky is back.
Brian Tyree Henry is expanding into the world of horror movies.
The Atlanta actor will be portraying detective Mike Norris, one of the leads of the new Child’s Play reboot alongside Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman.
The trailer begins with Plaza (as Karen Barclay) buying her son Andy (Bateman) a doll. Upon opening the box, the doll scans Andy’s face and, well, the chaos begins from there.
The reboot, which is made by the same producers as It, offers a “contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic modern retelling of Chucky.” The doll, referred to as a Buddi doll, is a modern-day “smart” toy.
Directed by Lars Klevberg, Child’s Play arrives in theaters on June 21.
