Childish Gambino, Solange & Steve Lacy All Have A Hand On New Summer Walker EP

Summer Walker has revealed the tracklist for her new EP Clear 2: Soft Life, with an appearance from Childish Gambino and production from Solange and Steve Lacy.

Summer Walker is gearing up for Clear 2: Soft Life with some special guests. On Monday, the recent Strength of A Woman Festival headliner revealed the tracklist for her upcoming 8-track EP, with Childish Gambino appearing on “New Type,” while Steve Lacy and Solange are co-producers on “Agayu’s Revelation.”

The latter track could be a throwaway from Solange’s 2019 album When I Get Home, on which Lacy co-produced the Gucci Mane-assisted track “My Skin My Logo.” One year prior, Solange told Billboard that she had been “jamming” with the Gemini Rights artist.

Donald Glover’s return as Childish Gambino has been sporadic, as he featured on Latto’s “Sunshine” and bLAck pARty’s “I Love You More Than You Know” in 2022, along with “Sticky” with KIRBY on the Swarm soundtrack earlier this year. The creative multi-hyphenate has recently launched a new multimedia company Gilga, which has since closed its search for applicants.

Appearing in Soft Life promo with Walker are rappers and internet personalities Sexyy Red and Sukihana. Soft Life – which was announced at this year’s Dreamville Festival – makes Walker’s latest project, following her 2021 sophomore album Still Over It, which featured Cardi B (“Bitter”), JT from City Girls (“Ex for A Reason”), SZA (“No Love”), Ari Lennox (“Unloyal”), Pharrell Williams (“Dat Right There”), and more. By the looks of first Soft Life track “To Summer, From Cole (Audio Hug)” the song could feature Dreamville Records co-founder J. Cole.

Soft Life also serves as the follow-up to Walker’s 4-track Clear EP, which arrived months before her debut album Over It.
