Beyonce Shot the Album Art for Jay Electronica's 'A Written Testimony' Album

The story of the weekend--in hip-hop, at least--was Jay Electronica finally releasing his A Written Testimony album. The nomadic New Orleans native enlisted Jay-Z for the eight of ten tracks on the project. Through and through, the album was a Roc Nation showcase.

On Saturday, the Twitter account @AintNoJigga revealed just how much The Carters helped out with Testimony. According to the account--which calls itself a 'Hovtorian,' The photo that eventually became the album artwork is Beyonce's personal pool. Additionally, @AintNoJigga claims Bey took the photo herself. Many fans believe someone close to the Carters is in charge of the account, which boasts over 23,000 followers.

A Written Testimony is already making headlines for better and worse amongst critics. On "Flux Capacitor," Jay-Z addressed his many critics regarding Roc Nation's deal with the NFL despite Colin Kaepernick's grievances. On the other hand, Jay Electronica sparked a debate with Peter Rosenberg after he made a New Testament Bible reference on "Ghost of Soulja Slim." Electronica alludes to escaping a "synagogue of Satan," a reference that reads anti-Semitic to many.

The album is expected to debut near the top of Billboard and streaming charts in the United States. After over a decade's worth of anticipation, Electronica wrote A Written Testimony in "40 days and 40 nights" starting back on December 26, 2019.
