A packaged labeled "Anne Thrax" was sent to Waters' LA office.

Police responded to a reported anthrax threat after a suspicious package was delivered to Rep. Maxine Waters’ district office in South Los Angeles Tuesday.

The package, addressed to “Anne Thrax.” was then removed by a hazardous materials (HazMat) crew and parts of the building were evacuated. The suspicious package was determined to not be dangerous, according to a notice from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Waters has represented California’s 43rd congressional district since 2013 and has become a staunch critic of Donald Trump’s administration. In April, she called on Trump to resign, and last month expressed support for public protests and activists who confronted Trump and the administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

Since then, she's received death threats.

Waters canceled two public events last month after she received “hostile mail” and “one very serious death threat.”
