Dam-Funk Shares Smoky New Cut "Still Focused"

All of this fresh activity from Dam-Funk is very welcome indeed. The West Coast king of all things synthetic, rich and funky has shared yet another new cut, this time digging into a bit of his surroundings' g-funk heritage. "Still Focused." Uploaded with the simple explainer "Just how it iz right now, that's all..," the loosie sways back and forth with the greatest of ease, equal parts Dre and Dilla and all around fantastic. Built of a giant synth bass and wild overdriven guitars, the moves confidently straight ahead even as it stutters, and is another classic "drive twice more around the block" number from the sly Stones Throw label signee.

"Still Focused" was posted late Friday night and announced by Dam-Funk through a Tweet. "I feel like lettin' y'all hear a new song I just completed, just for the Funk of it. Is that cool?" the producer wrote, to which obviously not a soul dared protest. Funk has been extra-busy as of late, bringing Boiler Room into his inner vinyl sanctum and gearing up for his new LP Invite The Light. You can preorder that record today over on iTunes, but "Still Focused" can already be heard, free of charge, below.

P.S. If you do happen to be in Los Angeles, Dam himself is reportedly selling synthesizers out of the back of his own damn car today. Get the details here, and pick us up a minty Moog, please?
