It's never easy (and increasingly difficult) to follow a Kanye West stunt, but Travis Scott, an unofficial protege of the G.O.O.D. Music camp, wiped away a disastrous showing with a kaleidoscopic caravan on Saturday Night Live.
Following an appearance in a sketch that put the fate of a dance-off in his hands (and feet,) Scott graced the stage with John Mayer, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, and Mike Dean (two for two on SNL this season,) to perform "Skeletons" and "Astrothunder" with an iridescent fog blanketing the stage.
He'd return later in the show for a stellar send-off, performing "Sicko Mode" with a lone Dean as his accompaniment. Drake was obviously too busy waving an Irish flag behind a (losing) psychopathic octagon fighter to join in on the festivities and deliver his contribution to the track.
You can watch clips of both Travis Scott performances below. His new album Astroworld is out now via Cactus Jack/Epic.
