It was only a few months back that Flying Lotus revealed that he was tapped as the composer for the anime short film, Blade Runner 2022, a sequel to the iconic 1982 film and a bridge towards the upcoming official sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

Today, the short, directed by visionary, Shinichiro Watanabe, has arrived with an intro from 2049 director, Denis Villeneuve. It expands the Blade Runner universe sets up the anxiously-anticipated sequel with the eerily-familiar replicant v. human backdrop, with "human supremacy" having finally reared its head in the wake of a new model, the Nexus 8, now fitted with a "natural lifespan." The score features contributions from Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and German producer, Kuedo.
