Late last year, Kehlani announced that she was going to release a new mixtape in 2019. It's the singer's first collection of songs since 2017's SweetSexySavage.

On Thursday morning (January 10th) Kehlani dropped the first single from the project. The song, which is called "Nights Like This," features an appearance from Ty Dolla $ign.

Kehlani talked to Zane Lowe, of Beats 1, about collaborating with Ty. She said:

I love Ty. We’ve made songs and it just hasn’t come out because it hasn’t been the time. Just being like, “oh I love you on this!” Or “I love you on this,” “I can hear you on this, let me get you this record.” Or like, “Let’s link up and do this.” This was just the perfect time for us both to finally put something out.

With the release of the song, Kehlani also dropped the science fiction-inspired video. Check it out below.
