With the ends of Avengers and Game of Thrones landing in the same calendar year, Saturday Night Live figured it was time for a dual.

On last night's cold open for an episode that was somehow Adam Sandler's hosting debut, the late-night squad pitted members of each roster against one another in a bout of Family Feud. With Kenan Thompson reprising his role as Steve Harvey, the teams are led through the ritual poll-vetted gauntlet. Thanos admits to an HGH problem and Leslie Jones makes for a reluctant Groot. I don't watch GoT, so I'll spare you any attempt at making sense of those references.

Both franchises have seen historic returns in 2019. Last week, Avengers: Endgame snatched every box office record imaginable, pulling in over $1 billion in opening weekend sales. Meanwhile, the most recent episode of Game of Thrones set its own standard with 17 million viewers, more than any episode of a show in HBO history.
