After a year-and-a-half hiatus, Donald Glover's hit show Atlanta returns tonight on FX. Glover has been making the rounds promoting the season, which is called Robbin' Season. On Wednesday night he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
It was an interesting interview where Glover touched on everything from growing up as a Jehovah Witness to how Atlanta is more like Curb your Enthusiasm than it is Twin Peaks. He also talked about how awkward it is being a rapper:
You’re in the video and you’ve got champagne and butts close to your face. And then you have to go to Whole Foods. And they’re like ‘you’re that dude,’ and you’re like, ‘please, I just want to buy this ice cream.’
The best moment of the interview came when Colbert started talking about the young girl who went viral by singing "Red Bone" as a way to sell Girl Scout Cookies. The young girl, named Charity Harrison, appeared on the show and sat next to Glover. Glover was gracious, buying 113 boxes of cookies.
