Chance & Co. deliver a touching three-song set on NPR's flagship series
The last few years of Chance The Rapper's meteoric climb have been full of historic firsts. Today he adds another one to the ever-expanding belt, treating Bob Boilen and the Tiny Desk Concert crew to a heart-mending moment with full band in tow and assistance from Third Story on backing vocals.
A self-proclaimed, Tiny Desk stan, Chance took a moment to shout out some of his fondest memories from the series (Tank and The Bangas and Gregory Porter,) commencing his svelte-but-feels-heavy program with "Juke Jam" before reciting a new poem, "The Other Side," before capping off the performance with a cover of Stevie Wonder's emotional prayer, "They Won't Go When I Go," off the legend's 1974 masterpiece, Fulfillingness' First Finale.
