Vince Staples has released the trailer for the second season of his hit Netflix series. The Vince Staples Show season 2 will premiere in November and the trailer is a telling glimpse of what fans can expect. The new season arrives almost two years since the show’s February 2024 debut.

The season’s tagline? “He’s been going through it.”

Set in Long Beach, CA, the satirical series is loosely inspired by Staples’ life. In Season 2, following a tragedy, Vince embarks on a crazy journey to find himself and inner peace. However, that journey is impeded by reminders of his troubled history.

The show is known for its irreverent and sometimes dark-humored tone, and this season appears to show Vince’s character in crisis. As always, the symbolism is heavy: as we see in the trailer, Vince opens a door that leads down a dark stairwell. He walks through several thresholds — including a white hallway lined with artwork and a hidden passageway behind a bookshelf. The unraveling plot seems to be full of twists and turns. Vince is challenged to push through as things become more foreboding and precarious.

The trailer ends with a battered Staples stopping to take a photo with a fan (also played by Staples) before the fan says, “I love your show. When is Season 2 happening?”

Created by Staples, Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams, the series is also co-executive produced by Kenya Barris.

Alongside Vince Staples, this season’s stars include returning cast members Vanessa Bell Calloway and Naté Jones. Zack Fox will guest star.
