Watch OutKast's Mr. DJ Cook with J Dilla, Madlib and Michael Jackson Records on 'Rhythm Roulette'
Two weeks into the new year and we've only just seen the return of Mass Appeal's Rhythm Roulette. Leading the charge for their 2017 roster of producers is none other than OutKast's very own, Mr. DJ. As the third member of the in-house production team, Earthtone III (along with Andre 3000 and Big Boi, of course,) this fellow ATLien is responsible for some of the group's most readily-identifiable output, including the majority of Stankonia (their most decorated release.)
Today, he lands the ship inside Stankonia Studios to see him cook with some absolute classics. Typically, when a producer enters the arena with Mass Appeal, the selections tend to lean towards obscurity. Not for Mr. DJ, however. His grabs include Michael Jackson's Off The Wall, J Dilla's Donuts and the Stones Throw Records sampler album, The Buzz, featuring Madlib, Dam-Funk, Mayer Hawthorne and more. The results are...interesting, to say the absolute least.
