Throughout the last 50 years of music history, Clive Davis has been one of the only co-signs worth anything at all.

As head of Columbia Records, Davis expanded the label's traditional leanings to rock, funk and r&b, signing Bruce Springsteen, Janis Joplin and Earth, Wind & Fire, amongst others, before jumping ship to Arista, where Aretha Franklin and Dionne Warwick would find homes, before helping Babyface and Diddy found their own labels and blaze trails in hip-hop and r&b with legends like, The Notorious B.I.G., OutKast, TLC and more. His venture into sole propriety, J Records, though it was eventually acquired by RCA, would release albums by D'Angelo (Black Messiah,) Alicia Keys and Jazmine Sullivan.

Now, after premiering earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival, a trailer for Apple Music's new documentary, Clive Davis: The Soundtrack To Our Lives, has been released, featuring testimony from a grip of the aforementioned artists, as well as fellow executives.
