Soul Rebels bring the energy with their new single.

After years of being on the scene,  New Orleans brass/hip-hop ensemble The Soul Rebels will release their debut album Poetry In Motion on Friday, October 25th. It's a landmark moment for the eight-person collective, who have only released mixtapes. The album will feature appearances from Big Freedia, Robert Glasper, PJ Morton, Matisyahu, and more.

To celebrate the release of the album, we are proudly premiering the video for the album's latest single, "Blow the Horns," which features Passport P, Julian GGosin and Sean Carey. The video, which was directed by Roberto Serrini, features the group jamming out" while woman fighters train to their music.

Speaking about "Blow the Horns," saxophonist Erion Williams, via email, said:

"Blow the Horns" represents the welcoming of a new era and sound for The Soul Rebels. It's a call to action that our album is here and we have arrived. It’s ushering in this album and is a call to work hard by any means necessary, and to be true to yourself. The video was amazing to make. You could feel the energy in the room while we shot it. We hope the fans feel that same energy on the screen.

Julian Gosin, who plays the trumpet and acts as MC, talked about what they were trying to accomplish with the video:

"Blow the Horns" video had a really high energy to it. The fighters added a certain fierceness, kind of like the way we approach our horns and performance. The video was super edgy and the environment had a real industrial vibe. The song is about fierceness, empowerment, and strength. The song and video is a call to action: we are here and it's our time. We were lucky to work with two amazing female fighters on this video.
