Watch Playboi Carti Make His Directorial Debut in the "@ MEH" Video

Still no official release date for Whole Lotta Red.

Nearly two weeks Clayton County, Georgia police charged him with drug possession and traffic violations, Playboi Carti has released his latest single. The song, "@ MEH," was produced by one of DaBaby's right-hand men, Jetson Made. Carti and Nick Walker directed the video.

The song is Carti's first solo single in nearly two years. In May 2018, he released his sophomore album Die Lit. In late July 2019, the album was certified gold by the RIAA. The album debuted at number three on the United States Billboard 200 charts.

Carti has been teasing the release of his long-awaited third album Whole Lotta Red for months now. Over two weeks ago, Drake previewed a collaboration between the two on Instagram Live. Many expect the track, known as "Pain 1993," to appear on the album. Carti's most frequent collaborator Pi'erre Bourne produced the track. Bourne and Carti notably linked up in 2016 for their breakout hit "Magnolia."

Bourne and Carti have been hinting that the album is complete since as early as 2018. "Somebody from the label wants me to tweet Carti's albums done," Bourne said in a now-deleted tweet from March 30. Earlier this month, when a fan commented that the delays have been disappointing, Carti responded optimistically.
