On Thursday afternoon, Kehlani dropped the video for her latest single "F&MU (Quarantine Style)." The track will appear on her upcoming release It Was Good Until it Wasn't. The album will include her last singles "Everybody Business" and "Toxic."
The track comes after a public fallout with a former friend and collaborator Kamaiyah. Her longtime collaborator Jahaan Sweet produced the track. Bri Alysse shot the video for "FM&U," while Yanelis Beras handled choreography. Hyphy Williams directed the video.
Sweet has produced hits like A Boogie wit da Hoodie's "Drowning," Drake's "Duppy Freestyle," and Jay-Z and Beyonce's "FRIENDS." Additionally, Sweet produced Lana Del Rey's "Summer Bummer."
Kehlani won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her 2015 project You Should Be Here. Subsequently, her debut album SWEETSEXYSAVAGE featured gold-certified singles "CRZY" and "Distraction." Shortly afterward, her single "Honey" garnered over 63 million streams worldwide.
"It's a tale of perspective," she said of the upcoming project. "The sun is shining, the sky is blue, but clearly something has gotten my attention. Paired with the back cover, we come into the question of 'is the grass really greener on the other side? Good things are good...until they aren't. Then, were they ever really good?"
It Was Good Until it Wasn't is available for preorder. Until then, stream SWEETSEXYSAVAGE on all major digital streaming platforms.
