Brandy, Anika Noni Rose and Halle Bailey Unite Onstage as Disney Princesses

The three stars have famously played iconic Black Disney heroines at various points in their careers.

Brandy, live action Cinderella, performs during "Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration" at the Disneyland Resort on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Anaheim.

It was a special moment as three iconic Black Disney princesses shared the stage at D23 at the Disneyland Resort. Brandy, Anika Noni Rose and Halle Bailey all took part in Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration at Disney California Adventure Park. The event brought together performers who have portrayed Disney’s most beloved heroines.

During the show, Brandy performed “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and joined Lea Salonga for “A Whole New World,” from Aladdin. Back in 1997, she famously starred as Cinderella in the TV film Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, becoming the first Black actress to play the character on television.

Rose performed “Almost There” from 2009’s The Princess and the Frog. She starred in that popular film as Tiana, Disney’s first Black animated princess. The character has remained a favorite.

As for Bailey, she famously starred as Ariel in Disney’s 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. She performed “Part of Your World” alongside the original Ariel, Jodi Benson, who voiced the young mermaid in the classic 1989 animated film.

“Oh my goodness!” commented Bailey on an IG post of the event. “Such a pinch me moment with these iconic women and forever my inspiration.”

All of the princesses came together to close the concert with “When You Wish Upon a Star,” with Brandy, Rose and Bailey getting to share the same stage.
