Watch Dave Chappelle Wish Benny the Butcher A Speedy Recovery

Dave Chappelle shouted out Griselda in a recent performance.

Just a couple of weeks ago, we learned Dave Chappelle was a Griselda fan. The 47-year-old welcomed Westside Gunn along with T.I. and 2 Chainz backstage before one of his shows in Atlanta. On Tuesday, Gunn posted a video of Dave's well-wishes to Benny the Butcher, who's currently recovering from a gunshot wound from an attempted robbery in Houston on Sunday.

"There's a hip-hop group that I f---ing love from Buffalo, New York," he began, "My man Benny the Butcher from Griselda got shot two nights ago." Dave clarified that he was alive, and that it was part of an attempted robbery.

"They were robbing him, he got shot in the leg, and I'm imagining he probably wasn't cooperating," Dave said, drawing laughter from the audience. He then attempted to get Benny on the phone, so fans could give him well wishes.

Benny's (understandably) gone silent on social media since the shooting, but Westside Gunn passed the well wishes along. "Much love to Dave Chappelle," he tweeted Tuesday.

Benny is fresh off the release of his second studio album, Burden of Proof. The project hit number 27 on the Billboard 200 charts. That peak marks the highest-charting Griselda project so far. Westside Gunn's Pray for Paris peaked at number 29, while Conway's From King to a God album hit number 126. Gunn recently announced his departure from Shady Records on The Joe Budden Podcast.

Stay tuned for further updates from both Dave Chappelle and Griselda Records.
