Black Thought Performs "State Prisoner" for the COLORS Studio
Black Thought performs a Streams of Thought, Vol. 3 cut.
On Thursday morning, the COLORS studio premiered their latest episode. The newest video features Black Thought, who performs "State Prisoner," from his new album Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane & Able. Stream the COLORS studio performance below.
Ever since the album's release after multiple delays, Thought has hit the ground running. Weeks ago, he gave a virtual performance of "Quiet Trip" and "Nature of the Beast" along with Portugal. The Man and The Last Artful, Dodgr on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Just days ago, he appeared on "Say Peace," the first single from Common's latest album A Beautiful Revolution. Shortly after the Streams of Thought release, he revealed he'd be dropping a joint album with Danger Mouse called Dangerous Thoughts.
"It's a feel good record," he said in an interview with the Ebro in the Morning crew. "It's a record for people who got into hip-hop and who evolved at the same period of time that we did."
The project would be Danger Mouse's first full hip-hop album since his Danger Doom collaboration album with MF DOOM in 2005. Over the past few years, he's worked with The Black Keys, Michael Kiwanuka, and U2, in additioin to releases with A$AP Rocky, Adele, and Run the Jewels.
COLORSXSTUDIOS describes itself as focusing "on the most distinctive new artists and original sounds in an increasingly fragmented and saturated scene.
