TMZ Reports Donald Trump Considering Commuting Diddy's Sentence

The White House has refuted reports from 'TMZ,' which claims an insider has told them the president is considering commuting Diddy's prison sentence.

Donald Trump could be considering commuting Diddy’s sentence. TMZ has reported that the president is "vacillating" on a commutation following Diddy’s 50-month sentence on two prostitution-related charges earlier in October. Some of the president’s staff are against the idea, the outlet said, citing a White House official. This comes even after the White House Communications Office denied TMZ’s claims — which the media company is standing by.

“We're told some of the W.H. staff are urging Trump not to commute the sentence,” they report. “But, our source states the obvious — ‘Trump will do what he wants,’ and we're told Trump could set Diddy free as early as this week.”

Trump commuted the sentence of former Congressman George Santos last Friday.

After nearly two months of trial, a New York jury acquitted Diddy of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but convicted him on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. Back in July, prior to the music mogul’s sentencing, there were numerous reports that Trump was considering pardoning Combs. At the time, DEADLINE reported that the president was weighing the possibility of giving Combs a full presidential pardon ahead of the convicted Bad Boy Records founder’s sentencing.

Back in May, Trump previously addressed the possibility of pardoning Combs. "Nobody's asked," the president said. "But I know people are thinking about it. I know they're thinking about it. I think some people have been very close to asking." Trump added, "I haven't spoken to him in years. He really liked me a lot."

Conservative media pundit Megyn Kelly reacted with criticism on X (formerly Twitter), warning against the idea of Trump pardoning Diddy.

"He's a Trump hater. He's a woman abuser. MAGA is already upset over elites seeming to cover for each other. This would not help. GOP struggling w/young female voters, most of whom will HATE a Diddy pardon," Kelly tweeted in May.
