It was a weekend of great music and high-energy performances at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York City for Governor’s Ball 2026. The three-day music festival has become an NYC staple, and this year, the ball had no shortage of high-profile headliners who put on a great show. Superstar A$AP Rocky hit the stage on day three, but even before that, things were on another level all weekend.
Mariah The Scientist gave a stunning performance, and Baby Keem again showed why he’s one of hip-hop’s most captivating live acts. Indie acts brought some of their best to the stage, including Blood Orange and the feel-good energy of Flowerovlove. Day two, June 6, was cut short due to weather concerns, but not before Ravyn Lenae drew a significant crowd with her uniquely smooth blend of neo-soul and pop.
Alongside the rock, dance, R&B and alt acts, hip-hoppers were well-represented. In addition to Harlem’s own Rocky, the Virginia-repping Clipse got to enjoy yet another victory lap since their reunion, and the dynamic duo of Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist kept the energy high during their set Sunday (June 7) night.
These are the five best moments from this year’s Governor’s Ball!
The R&B chanteuse performed a colorful set, joined onstage by guitarist Antonio for a set of her distinctly moody R&B sound. She looked stunning and sounded great, running through tracks like "Rainy Days" and "2 You" — and her live band and backup dancers never missed. It’s evident she’s stepping up her game as a live performer.

These two don’t have anything to prove to anyone, but it’s always a good look when no-frills hip-hop gets a win. And this set was a win; a masterclass in raw, unfiltered emceeing and craftsmanship. Standing in stark contrast to the genre-blending and glittery pop shenanigans that dominated the weekend, Gibbs and Al delivered realness and bars.

Keem had a wild set that included his massive hits and songs from his latest project, Casino, and he held down Day One of the festival with an explosive, genre-bending performance. The West Coast star eschewed gaudiness for a balanced, minimalist stage design; but the star of his set was his signature, unpredictably elastic flows. Proof positive that his reputation as one of hip-hop's most compelling live acts is well-earned.

Despite the Gen Z-heavy crowd being unusually quiet for Pusha T and Malice’s set, the brothers out of VA represented for classic hip-hop and for their home turf. The duo is still riding high on Let God Sort Em Out, and the pair put on a clinic of live rapping. It was a reminder that these two guys are really good at this – and that years of experience make them a finely tuned machine whenever they grace any stage and hold a microphone.

1. A$AP Rocky Closes Things Out and Brings Out Tokischa
Nothing like a superstar’s homecoming to get everybody a little misty-eyed–but the Harlem spitter was not here for sentimentality. Rocky took the stage referencing U.S. military motifs, featuring a massive, branded military helicopter and showcasing performers dressed in riot gear. He ran through some older hits like "Peso," "Purple Swag," and "Praise the Lord;” and to top it off, Rocky brought out Tokischa to perform their track "Flackito Jodye.”
