Murder Suspect of Migos’ Takeoff Has Been Indicted

Houston-area man Patrick Clark has been formally charged with murder in the November 1st, 2022 murder of Migos member Takeoff.

The murder investigation of late Migos member Takeoff is beginning to see some progress. In December 2022, Houston-area man Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested for the November 1 murder of Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball. On Thursday (May 25), Clark was formally indicted by a Texas grand jury, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Clark, 33, was previously released on a $1 million bond earlier this year. His defense attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, says that the indictment was not unexpected due to a “minimal standard of proof,” but expects her client to be proven not guilty by the trial’s end.

"When we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to put on our evidence and cross-examine the state’s witnesses – where the standard of proof is guilt beyond reasonable doubt – we expect the jury will come back with a verdict of not guilty,” said Quinones-Hollins in a statement.

Ball was shot and killed on the morning of November 1 after a private event at Houston’s 810 Billiards and Bowling. Also present at the time of the shooting was Ball’s uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo, who was reportedly playing a dice game that resulted in a heated argument and the subsequent shooting. According to police, Quavo began arguing with two men who’d won money off the dice game, one being Cameron Joshua, who now faces a weapons charge. A physical fight broke out and two men opened fire, one allegedly being Clark.

In November, a memorial service was held for Ball at Atlanta’s State Farm arena. Quavo, along with other Migos member Offset, have given separate tributes to Ball in song and tattoo form. Quavo has recently announced that his next album will be titled Rocket Power, in dedication to Ball.
