Teamwork makes the dream work.
LeBron James has a long history of being a good teammate. But this is taking things to another level. According to Yahoo Sports, LeBron James is gifting his number 23 to star player Anthony Davis, who was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this month.
According to Yahoo, the league has already been notified of the move. It isn’t clear what number LeBron will wear. But we know it won’t be 8, 13, 22, 24, 25, 32, 33, 34, 42, 44 or 52. All of those numbers have been retired by the Lakers.
James has worn 23 throughout his career. The exception was the four years he played on the Miami Heat (the Heat retired 23 after Michael Jordan retired.)

Also interesting: Anthony Davis has declined a $4 million trade bonus, leaving the Lakers with room to sign one more max player superstar.
