What makes this move interesting is that Thomas was the centerpiece of the Kyrie Irving tradewith the Boston Celtics that occurred last summer. However, Thomas spent most of his time with the Cavs still recovering from an injury that occurred during his time with the Celtics.
When he finally came back, Thomas struggled to fit in with LeBron James and was a liability on both sides of the court. Making matters worse is the fact that Cavs have been struggling recently, and Thomas has been openly critical ofteammates and coaching decisions. Things got so toxic between Thomas and the Cleveland community, the Cavs had to turn off the commentson an IG post dedicated to him after it got blasted with hate:
Thomas only played 15 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
One thing that makes this truly tragic for Thomas is that just last night the guard said he likedplaying in Cleveland and that he's "tired of being traded."
The game is cold.
