Naturally, there's going to be a ton of content centered on the incident. One piece of programming to look out for, specifically, is coming out next month on Showtime.
It is a documentary called Burn Motherf*cker, Burn. Not only will the documentary cover those infamous riots, but it will provide much-needed context into the tense environment leading up to the uprising. So it will showcase the volatile relationship the LAPD and residents had for years; the 1965 Watts riots; and, of course, the Rodney King beating in 1991, which was the spark plug for what would occur in 1992.

The movie was directed by OG hip-hop journalist Sacha Jenkins. He was the man behind CNN's excellent Fresh Dressed documentary. For this documentary, they talked to a vast number of people: including Jeff Chang, Everlast, B-Real, Yo-Yo, Dee Barnes, Connie Rice, and more.
The documentary will premiere on Showtime on Friday, April 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Let's watch it together, shall we?
