Run the Jewels have announced a series of anniversary shows titled RTJX - Celebrating 10 Years of Run the Jewels.
For their 10th anniversary, Run the Jewels are coming to a city near you. On Tuesday (March 28), the rap duo, composed of members Killer Mike and El-P, announced their upcoming tour RTJX - Celebrating 10 Years of Run the Jewels, which will hit Atlanta, New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles this fall. The multi-city residences will also mark RTJ's first club shows in North America since dropping their album RTJ4 in 2020.
“It’s mind blowing to us that it’s been 10 years since we joined forces as RTJ. The best way we can think to celebrate is to get the whole family together and do what we love for the people who love us back," the duo said in a joint statement. "It’s going to be amazing, just like this entire ride has been, and we are grateful to get a chance to celebrate with our jewel runners this year and finally get back into clubs to destroy some stages for you."
They added, "We’re doing four cities, four nights each, and four full albums worth of jams, many we have only performed a small handful of times during our whole existence. So on night one it's RTJ1 in full plus many more songs from the other records, night two it's RTJ2... etc. etc. We can’t wait to get out there and see you."
Along with 10 Years of Run, RTJ is releasing an exclusive pair of the Nike SB Dunk Low and High on April 20. The sneakers are inspired by the artwork from the group’s last two albums, 2017's Run the Jewels 3 and 2020's RTJ4. On Record Store Day, the duo's experimental album RTJ CU4TROwill be hitting vinyl for the first time.
As well as their tour, RTJ’s 10th Anniversary Vinyl has been released. The special 2-LP edition of Run the Jewels 2 is a pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl, delivering a cleaner and heavier sound that really brings there duo's classics to life. The release also comes with interchangeable inner-sleeves featuring the iconic pistol and fist logo, so fans can customize the cover art as they please. The Vinyl includes a rare bonus track, “Blockbuster Night Part 2,” featuring Despot and Wiki that was previously only available in Japan.
More information about the tour is available on the duo's official website.
