Run DMC Curate Vinyl-Exclusive '12on12' Compilation Dedicated to Jam Master Jay

The album features music the group was inspired by, including songs from Afrika Bambaataa, Chic, Anita Baker, and more.

Run DMC is partnering with 12on12 for a limited-edition vinyl-only compilation album.

The upcoming 12-track album features songs that inspired the group's work, handpicked by the surviving members in dedication to the late Jam Master Jay. Pressed to just 500 hand-numbered copies, the 12on12 compilation spotlights songs from fellow hip-hop luminaries, as well as soul and funk contemporaries, including Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Anita Baker, Kenny G, Chic, and more. The release will also feature artwork from LA-based artist, Reena Tolentino.

The 120n12 compilation will arrive on December 8th to mark the 36th-anniversary of the group's Grammy-nominated breakout album, Raising Hell, which went 3x platinum by 1987 and was inducted into the Library of Congress in 2018. Pre-orders of the album go live on December 2nd via 12on12.
